How to cook Japanese rice in a pan when you don't have a pressure cooker?
Basic recipe for preparing sushi.
Ingredients :
1 volume of RICE + 1.2 volume of WATER
Ex.) for 4 people (around 500g after cooking)
250g Japanese round rice + 30cl water
Preparation :
1. Pour the rice into a fairly fine strainer.
Under running water, wash the rice until the water running out is clear.
Place the rice and water in a saucepan. Leave to soak for 30 min.
2. Cover, heat over medium heat until boiling.
Once boiling, cook for 10 minutes over very low heat.
3. Remove from the heat, leave the lid on and let sit for 10 minutes.
So ! Your rice is ready!
