Small Sasa tray
Small Sasa tray
Small presentation tray in the shape of a bamboo leaf by Yasuhisa Shibata, ceramic artist based in Kyoto, Japan.
Sasa (笹) means bamboo leaf in Japanese. This tray was made from semi-porcelain clay to express the freshness of bamboo leaves. It is characterized by the whiteness and great resistance of porcelain combined with the softness and texture of ceramic clay.
It was created in the image of bamboo leaves falling on a table.
To give the illusion of the lightness of a real bamboo leaf, small feet were added, just big enough, to prevent it from touching the ground.
The veins of the bamboo leaf are visible in the depth of the glaze. This meticulous work will give the impression of a real bamboo leaf on your table.
You can use it to present your aperitifs, appetizers or for plating a dish.
Handcrafted, color and finish may vary and contribute to the unique character of each piece.
