Collection: Opinel × Shiori

For this collaboration, Shiori sought out artisans in Hyogo, Osaka, Gifu, and Niigata, but it was ultimately Nigara Hamono, based in Aomori Prefecture and renowned for its 350-year-old Tsugaru Uchihamono knife-making tradition, that brought this unique No.10 knife to life—blending the essence of our two cultures.

Nigara Hamono selected an exceptional steel: VG7, a multi-layered stainless steel.

The Tsuchime, or traditional hand-hammered finish, creates an uneven surface that helps prevent moist ingredients from sticking to the blade.

With a hardness of 63 HRC, the blade delivers outstanding cutting performance and long-lasting sharpness.

The handle is made of figured maple, a luminous and shimmering wood.
