THE Japanese Higonokami pocket knife with a view of Mount Fuji!

The Higonokami was created in 1896 by Japanese blacksmiths in search of a commercial substitute for samurai swords. The knife is traditionally intended for all small household chores.

In 2018, The FUJI KNIFE was designed by young Japanese designers passionate about local ancestral know-how. They modernized this traditional knife. The bottle opener function that is added to the brass handle is an innovation for this type of knife.

To ensure the sustainability of the art of Japanese cutlery, the manufacturer MUJUN has built a training factory for these craftsmen on the company's premises.

Very original design:

Mount Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan and it goes without saying that it is a significant symbol of beauty for the Japanese.

Stylized with a Ukiyo-e twist, a beautiful landscape seen from the Miho Peninsula - a World Heritage Site - is engraved.

Part of the drawn landscape gives its shape to the bottle opener. A design that combines beauty and practicality.

Blade durability:

The blade has a three-layer structure, Shirogami (white steel) at the heart of the blade, covered with soft iron, sharpened on both sides (bilateral bevel). Shirogami steel is renowned for its perfect balance between hardness and easy sharpening.

The blade may oxidize if left in contact with a humid environment for a long time. It should therefore be wiped off after use and, if necessary, occasionally coated with camellia or olive oil.
