It requires more time and effort than usual, as each piece is burned, cleaned of soot and then polished individually by hand.

As a result, the relief and color of the beautiful grain of the wood are even more pronounced.

This treatment allows Kiri wood to be even more heat resistant. Additionally, discolorations and stains are less visible.

Kiri wood has a beautiful lustrous grain and interesting properties: it is resistant to humidity and drought while being light. It has long been used in Japan to make chests of drawers, furniture, Geta (wooden shoes), musical instruments and containers for paintings and calligraphy.

The high quality of Kiri wood is characterized by its unique burnished and polished surface. In addition to being lightweight, moisture-resistant and flame-retardant, the more you use it, the more you will appreciate its color and shine.

The product is made by hand, one by one, which explains variations in size, shape and appearance. Additionally, as the raw wood used has a strong texture, the grain expression, color and weight vary from piece to piece.
